Project - Sparkill Creek Watershed Flood Mitigation (View All)

Overview
Timeline
Documents
Oak Tree Road at the Tappan Library – Before Hurricane Irene
Oak Tree Road after Hurricane Irene – water cascades over wall – possibly a few inches lower than earlier in day – side street becomes a river every few years
Lowe’s (Orangeburg) Outfall before – a few inches of water
Lowe’s (Orangeburg) after – only a slight bit more flow – considerable flooding downstream
Oak Tree Road in Tappan – lower crossing – low flow well below bridge before Irene
Oak Tree Rd – Lower Crossing After Irene – Bridge is just beyond white sign
Route 303 at Route 340 Before – water is just up to bottom of culvert
AfteRoute 303 at Route 340 (about 2:30 pm) it looks like water had been much higher – probably due partly to debris blocking culvert – some may have been remove by the Highway Department earlier in the day as it looks like the flow overtopped the culvert
of Rt 303 at NJ border – bridge is at left just beyond where kids are cycling through water – 1 to 2′ above pavement
Drainage into Sparkill between the restaurant and the Sparkill Fire House to the right, before Irene
Sparkill Creek behind the Sparkill Firehouse – After Hurricane Irene
