TUESDAY, MAY 9, 2017

 

This Workshop Meeting was opened at 8:20 p.m. Supervisor Stewart presided and the Deputy Clerk called the roll.

 

Present were:   Councilman Denis Troy

Councilman Paul Valentine

Councilman Gerald Bottari

Supervisor Andrew Stewart

 

Absent:              Councilman Thomas Diviny

RESOLUTION NO. 261                                          APPOINT STEPHANIE TASSELLO PRINCIPAL ACCOUNT CLERK PERMANENT

 

Supervisor Stewart offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Troy and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Human Resources Coordinator, appoint Stephanie Tassello, from Rockland County EL #15075, to the position of Principal Account Clerk, permanent, in the Finance Department, effective 5/10/2017, no change in salary.

RESOLUTION NO. 262                                          SET PH/ CIRCULATION LETTER INTENTION TO BE LEAD AGENCY CHAPTER 43 (ZONING) VETERAN HOUSING / R-15 ZONING DISTRICT

Under new business, Councilman Troy offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Bottari and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby sets May 23, 2017, at 8:05 p.m., for a public hearing on a proposed local law, amending Chapter 43 (Zoning) of the Town Code, and the Table of General Use Regulations applicable to the R-15 Zoning District (43 Attachment 3), adding Veteran Housing as a Conditional Use under Column 4, Use 2, and to the corresponding Schedule of Lot and Bulk Regulations (43 Attachment 13) under Use Group N; and

RESOLUTION NO. 262 – Continued

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in connection therewith, the Town Board declares its intent to be lead agency for environmental review, and directs the circulation thereof to all interested and involved agencies; and, further, directs the circulation of the proposed law for review and comment to the Rockland County Department of Planning, pursuant to GML § 239, and to the Town Planning Board, pursuant to § Town Code Chapter 43, § 10.5.

RESOLUTION NO. 264                                          ENTER EXECUTIVE SESSION    CONTRACTOR LEGAL ISSUE

 

In attendance, at this Executive Session, were Supervisor Stewart, Councilpersons Troy, Valentine and Bottari, John Edwards, Teresa Kenny and Jim Dean.

 

Supervisor Stewart offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Bottari and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, at 9:10 p.m. the Town Board entered Executive Session to discuss a potential legal issue with a contractor.  Supervisor Stewart said no further votes will be taken.

RESOLVED, at 9:35 pm, the Town Board re-entered the Workshop and adjourned in memory of Daniel Holland, Pearl River.
