TOWN OF ORANGETOWN

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, MARCH 20, 2009

This Special Town Board Meeting was opened at 8:00 a.m. Supervisor Kleiner presided and the Town Clerk called the Roll.  Present were:

 

Councilman Denis Troy

Councilwoman Marie Manning

Councilwoman Nancy Low-Hogan

Councilman Michael Maturo

 

Also present:   Charlotte Madigan, Town Clerk

Eliot Tozer, Deputy Supervisor

John Edwards, Town Attorney

Teresa Kenny, First Deputy Town Attorney

Kevin Nulty, Chief of Police

Robert Zimmerman, Police Captain

 

Charlotte Madigan, Town Clerk, led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

 

RESOLUTION NO.  193                                         ENTER STBM/POLICE PERSONNEL

 

Councilwoman Manning offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilwoman Low-Hogan and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, that the Town Board entered this Special Town Board meeting at 8:15 a.m. to discuss particular Police Personnel matters.

RESOLUTION NO.  194                                         ENTER EXECUTIVE SESSION/POLICE DISCIPLINARY MATTERS

 

Councilwoman Manning offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilwoman Low-Hogan and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, that the Town Board entered Executive Session at 8:17 a.m. to discuss Police disciplinary matters.

RESOLUTION NO.  195                                         RE-ENTERED STBM

 

Councilman Maturo offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilwoman Manning and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, that the Town Board re-entered the Special Town Board Meeting at 9:35 a.m.

RESOLUTION NO.  196                                         APPROVE SETTLEMENT/POLICE EMPLOYEE NO. 1083

 

Councilwoman Manning offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Maturo and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, that the Town Board approves the settlement of an open disciplinary proceeding with respect to charges filed on March 9, 2009 regarding Employee No. 1083 according to the terms of the Rockland County Police Act, and in connection therewith, the suspension of that employee referenced in Resolution No. 187/2009 is hereby terminated.

RESOLUTION NO.  197                                         APPROVE SETTLEMENT/POLICE EMPLOYEE NO. 2734

 

Councilwoman Manning offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Maturo and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, that the Town Board approves the settlement of an open disciplinary proceeding with respect to charges filed on March 9, 2009 regarding Employee No. 2734 according to the terms of the Rockland County Police Act, and in connection therewith, the suspension of that employee referenced in Resolution No. 187/2009 is hereby terminated.

RESOLUTION NO.  198                                         APPROVE SETTLEMENT/POLICE EMPLOYEE NO. 3181

RESOLVED, that the Town Board approves the settlement of an open disciplinary proceeding with regard to Employee No. 3181 according to the terms of the Rockland County Police Act.
