WORKSHOP

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2014

 

This Workshop was opened at 7:00 p.m.  Supervisor Stewart presided and Town Clerk Madigan called the Roll.  Present were:

 

Councilman Denis Troy

Councilman Thomas Diviny

Councilman Thomas Morr

Councilman Paul Valentine

 

Also present:               Charlotte Madigan, Town Clerk

Teresa Kenny, First Deputy Town Attorney

Jeff Bencik, Finance Director

James Dean, Superintendent of Highways

John Giardiello, Director of OBZPAE

Joe Moran, Commissioner of DEME

Aric Gorton, Superintendent of Parks, Recreation & Building Maint

Donna Morrison, Human Resource Coordinator

Supervisor Stewart led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

 

RESOLUTION NO. 543                                          ENTER POLICE COMMISSION MEETING

 

In attendance, at this Police Commission Meeting were Supervisor Stewart, Councilmen Troy, Diviny, Morr and Valentine, Jeff Bencik, Police Chief Kevin Nulty, Captain Donald Butterworth and Captain James Brown.

 

Councilman Valentine offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Troy and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, at 7:00 p.m, the Town Board entered the Police Commission Meeting.

RESOLUTION NO. 544                                          ENTER EXECUTIVE SESSION        ALTA SPORTS CENTER / RPC

 

In attendance, at this Executive Session were Supervisor Stewart, Councilmen Troy, Diviny, Morr and Valentine, Charlotte Madigan and Jeff Bencik.

 

Councilman Valentine offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Troy and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, at 7:05 p.m, the Town Board entered Executive Session for a presentation on an ALTA Sports Center proposal, to be built on the grounds of RPC.

John Grifonetti and Elizabeth Siebert presented their proposal for a Sports Complex to be located on the RPC site.  The center will include an Aquatic Center, a Health and Fitness Center, a Pro-Shop, Tutoring and Admissions Counseling Center, a Field House, Locker rooms and a Café.  The Aquatic Center will contain competition pools, a learn to swim and exercise pool, therapy pools, and endless pools for technical training.  The Fitness Center will consist of an aerobic deck, strength and conditioning area, multipurpose rooms, (spinning, pilates, yoga), and saunas.  The Field House includes a regulation size soccer field, which will accommodate lacrosse, football, baseball, softball, field hockey or rugby.

 

 

RESOLUTION NO. 545                                          RE-ENTER POLICE COMMISSION MEETING/POLICE MATTERS

 

 

Councilman Valentine offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Troy and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, at 7:35 p.m, the Town Board re-entered Police Commission Meeting to discuss various Police matters.

 

Ayes:         Councilpersons Valentine, Troy, Diviny, Morr

RESOLUTION NO. 546                                          ENTER EXECUTIVE SESSION    PARTICULAR POLICE OFFICER

 

In attendance, at this Executive Session, were Supervisor Stewart, Councilmen Troy, Diviny, Morr and Valentine, Charlotte Madigan, Teresa Kenny, Jeff Bencik, Kevin Nulty, Donald Butterworth and James Brown.

 

Councilman Valentine offered the following resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Troy and was unanimously adopted:

 

RESOLVED, at 7:48 p.m, the Town Board entered Executive Session to discuss a particular Police Officer.

RESOLVED, at 8:47 p.m., the Town Board re-entered the Workshop at 8:05 p.m. and adjourned
