Margaret Raso, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Hearings on this meeting’s agenda, which are made a part of this meeting, were held as noted below:

R-80; – Amendment to previous decision to accommodate a Jacuzzi on the south corner of the pool and to change the direction of the proposed fireplace (William Bosley stated that the proposed fireplace will be a gas fireplace) to be seen from the proposed spa and to change the size of the proposed pool to accommodate the spa; see revised plans with the latest revision date of 07/09/2015 by Paul Gdanski, P .E.. Applicant must submit signed and sealed plans. A motion was made by Scott Wheatley to accept the minor changes and to add a referral from the Building Inspector regarding the changes to the file; which motion was seconded by Joseph Chabot and carried unanimously.
THE DECISIONS RELATED TO THE ABOVE HEARINGS are inserted herein and made part of these minutes.
There being no further business to come before the Board, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M.

HABR#lS-14: Application of Matthew Baranek for review of a new overhang and a paver driveway at an existing single residence located at 8 Chipman Road, in the Town of Orangetown, Hamlet of Palisades, New York. Chapter 12, Section 12-4(A), Historic Areas Board of Review.
Tax Numbers: 80.06 I 1I9; R-40 zoning district.
Heard by the HISTORIC AREAS BOARD OF REVIEW at a meeting held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at which time the Board made the following determination:
Matthew Baranek and Michael Leone, contractor, appeared. The following documents were presented:
- Site plan by Gdanski Consultants dated 04/29/2014 with the latest revision date of 031061 2015 signed and sealed by Paul Gdanski, P .E..
- Plans labeled “Patio Roof’ dated April 20, 2015 signed and sealed by Bart Rodi, P.E ..
- 12 computer generated pictures of the proposed roof overhang.
Michael Leone, contractor explained to the Board that they originally removed the overhang but they have decided to replace it because the back yard is too hot not to have a shaded area to sit; that they are also refinishing the driveway because it was damaged
during construction and are adding pavers; that they will be replacing the three pillars that were removed during the construction of the pool; that the hip part of the roof will be 21″ higher than the shed roof and that he driveway pavers will be blue 80 Chamberlain Grey techno Block Pavers.
PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comment.

FINDINGS OF FACT:
The Board, after personal observation of the property, hearing all the testimony and reviewing same, found as fact, that: The application as presented, would not adversely affect the Historic District and the surrounding area. The design and materials for the proposed overhang and driveway pavers are acceptable.
- The overhang in the rear of the house shall have roof shingles that match the rest of the house: GAF Asphalt pewter grey shingles.
- The driveway pavers shall be Blue 80 Chamblain Grey Techno Block.
THIS APPROVAL/DECISION, AND ANY MODIFICATIONS OR CONDITIONS SET FORTH HEREIN, IS GRANTED BY THE HISTORICAL AREA BOARD OF REVIEW AND IS LIMITED TO THE SPECIFIC RELIEF REQUESTED AND SUBJECT TO THE CONDITIONS OR MODIFICATIONS, IF ANY, SET FORTH HEREIN.
** PRE-1918 CONSTRUCTION: PLEASE BE ADVISED: IN THE HISTORIC AREA, ALL CONSTRUCTION REQUIRING A BUILDING PERMIT OR ANY EXTERIOR CHANGES (INCLUDING PAINT COLOR) TO BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTED PRIOR TO 1918, REQUIRES APPROVAL FROM THE HISTORIC AREAS BOARD OF REVIEW.
PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE HISTORICAL AREA BOARD OF REVIEW IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO ANY CHANGE OR MODIFICATION OF THE REQUIREMENTS AND/OR CONDITIONS SET FORTH IN THIS DECISION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

DECISION: In view of the foregoing and the testimony before the Board, the application;
for the overhang in the rear of the house and the paver driveway is APPROVED.
The foregoing resolution to approve the overhang in the rear of the house and the paver driveway was presented and moved by Thano Schoppel, seconded by Larry Bucciarelli; and carried as follows: William Walther, aye; Scott Wheatley, aye Thano Schoppel, aye; Margaret Raso, aye; Larry Bucciarelli, aye; and Joseph Chabot, aye. Wayne Garrison was absent.
The Administrative Aide to the Board is hereby authorized, directed and empowered to sign this decision and file a certified copy thereof in the office of the Town Clerk.
