23rd Annual Halloween Spooktacular
On Friday, October 17th, boys and girls ages 3 to 10 are invited to participate in a night of fun.  Bring your own pumpkin and the Rec Department will provide the supplies.  The night also includes a costume parade, a visit from a famous movie character (or two)  and the Mad Science Fire & Ice Show.  The night begins at 6:00pm

  GOLF UNDER THE STARS
Thank you to the 44 golfers, Bret Watzka and the BHGC Staff, the Orangetown Recreation Staff, the Orangetown Rec Office Staff, and the staff at Emmett's Castle for making the 5th Annual Golf Under the Stars a great night.  Congratulations to Mike Guzzino closest to the pin winner and the 1st place John DeTemple Group @ -4 and the 2nd place Greg DeCola group @ -3.   We look forward to seeing you next year.

JBC RAILTRAIL 5 MILE FUN RUN
The 8th annual JBC 5 will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at 9:00am.  This free run takes place on the railtrail beginning and ending in Sparkill.  This is a non-competitive event that will provide accurate mile splits.  Refreshments will be available post race.  The application can be found

ORANGETOWN SANTA CLAUS 5K
The 23rd Annual Orangetown Santa 5k Run and children's races will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at 10:30am.  Age categories range from 9 & Under to 70+.  Pre-registration is $20.00 and race day registrationis $25.00.  More information can be found on the application available here 


ORANGETOWN SLO-BREAK BASKETBALL MEEETINGS
The organizational meetings for the men's and women's slo-break basketball league will be held on Thursday, October 23 at the Greenbush Auditorium in Orangeburg.  The men's meeting will start at 7:00pm & the women's meeting will start at 7:45pm.  Registration is accepted for teams only, single players looking to enter the league should attend the meeting in hopes of joining an existing team.

GOLF PERMIT REGISTRATION SCHEDULE

Extended hours are now over for the season.

Beginning May 20th permit hours are as follows

Monday to Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm

3 proofs of identification must be presented for a resident permit.

Permit applications, seasonal applications and more information on the Blue Hill Golf Course can be found by visiting www.orangetowngolf.com.

 


                              
THEME PARK DISCOUNT TICKET PROGRAM
The theme park discount ticket program has ended for the season.  Thank you to all the families that participated in the program this year as Orangetown was the #1 seller in the New York Recreation and Parks Society program. We hope you will take part in the great savings again next year!

Please be advised that the Office of Recreation and Parks will no longer be accepting $100.00 bills as payment for services. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Regal Cinemas Discount Ticket Program 

The Office of Recreation & Parks is selling discounted movie tickets for the new Regal Cinema in the Shops at Nanuet.  Tickets never expire! Movie tickets are great gifts for college students, friends, neighbors and even the bus driver.  Save up to 30% off the price of the theatre box office price.  Please visit our downloadable files section for a flyer with prices, and purchase terms and conditions.  Tickets can be purchased between the hours of 9:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.  Accepted forms of payment are cash or check.

  

COMING SOON - SKI RESORT DISCOUNT TICKETS
The Recreation office will be selling discount tickets for many local ski resorts beginning later in the year.  Last year's resorts included Killington, Windham and Hunter Mountains.  We are still waiting to see what sites will be participating this year.  Please check back in early November for more details.

GIVE THE GIFT OF GOLF 

Gift certificates are the perfect gift for birthdays, retirements or an anniversary and are available all year long at the Recreation and Parks Office. Acceptable forms of payment are cash or check. Gift certificates are also available at the Blue Hill Golf Course where credit cards are also accepted. The certificates are usable for Greensfees and Golf Cart Rental fees.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Town of Orangetown Parks and Recreation Department is to deliver leisure time opportunities through safe, well-organized and affordable programs and a comprehensive network of parks, trails and open spaces to promote the mental, physical and social well-being of our residents.

 


Program Flyers

The Department mails flyers to its residents three times a year (early March, May and September), outlining the upcoming programs it will offer. Copies of the current flyer are available on this website, at the Office, local libraries or at Town Hall.

The office also has a resource display of brochures from areas of local interest.


Office Hours

The Parks and Recreation Office, located in a historic sandstone house in Veteran's Memorial Park, is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
