News & Notes: 

The Friday night concert series begins on Friday, July 11th at Veteran's Memorial Park in Orangeburg and will continue until August 15th. All concerts begin at 7:45pm. Everyone is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the evening. Veteran's Park features a full serve concession stand as well as bathrooms and plenty of parking. In case of rain, please refer back to this website for an indoor site or rain date.

Blue Hill Golf Course News

Extended hours are now over for the season.

Beginning May 20th permit hours are as follows

Monday to Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm

3 proofs of identification must be presented for a resident permit.

An organizational meeting will be held for any teams interested in participating in our fall co-ed softball league.  The meeing will be held in the Greenbush Auditorium on Wednesday, August 6th beginning at 7:00pm.  The league is played weeknights in Veteran's Memorial Park from early September until the end of October.  It is recommended that single players looking to join a team attend the meeting.  The Town of Orangetown does not organize teams but will try to place individuals on teams accepting players.  For more information, please call the office at 359-6503.

 Orangetown Family Movie Night
On Friday, August 1st, Veteran's Memorial Park will turn into a "Drive-In Theater" for kids of all ages .  The night will include The Lego Movie on a 20' x 40' screen.  Beginning at 6:30pm the Bossy Frog Band will play on the concert stage and face painting, balloon animals and bouncy castles will open for the evening.  At 8:00pm Paul the Magic Clown will be on the concert stage and at 8:45pm the movie will be shown in surround sound. Free popcorn will be available for the start of the movie.


Summer Program Camp registration is ongoing as long as space remains in a program.  Many upcoming program such as Skyhawks Sports, Mad Science and swimming instructions have limited availability.  For more information, please contact the Recreation Office at 359-6503 or

Regal Cinemas Discount Ticket Program 

The Office of Recreation & Parks is selling discounted movie tickets for the new Regal Cinema in the Shops at Nanuet.  Tickets never expire! Movie tickets are great gifts for college students, friends, neighbors and even the bus driver.  Save up to 30% off the price of the theatre box office price.  Please visit our downloadable files section for a flyer with prices, and purchase terms and conditions.  Tickets can be purchased between the hours of 9:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.  Accepted forms of payment are cash or check.



Orangetown Recreation and the professional golf staff at Blue Hill Golf Course will sponsor the 15th Annual Youth Golf Tournament for boys and girls ages 12 to 17, Tuesday, August 12th @ 12:30pm.
The registration fee of $20.00 includes a nine hole tournament, lunch and prizes. 

Registration forms are available at the recreation office or can be downloaded from our files at the top of the page.  Registration ends Friday, August 8th.

A tennis tournament will be held for boy and girls ages 8 to 17 on Monday, August 11th and Tuesday, August 12th beginnng at 9:30am.  Categories will include singles and doubles, in case of rain the tournament will be held on Wednesday, August 13th.


Gift certificates are the perfect gift for birthdays, retirements or an anniversary and are available all year long at the Recreation and Parks Office. Acceptable forms of payment are cash or check. Gift certificates are also available at the Blue Hill Golf Course where credit cards are also accepted. The certificates are usable for Greensfees and Golf Cart Rental fees.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Town of Orangetown Parks and Recreation Department is to deliver leisure time opportunities through safe, well-organized and affordable programs and a comprehensive network of parks, trails and open spaces to promote the mental, physical and social well-being of our residents.


Program Flyers

The Department mails flyers to its residents three times a year (early March, May and September), outlining the upcoming programs it will offer. Copies of the current flyer are available on this website, at the Office, local libraries or at Town Hall.

The office also has a resource display of brochures from areas of local interest.

Office Hours

The Parks and Recreation Office, located in a historic sandstone house in Veteran's Memorial Park, is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
