ORANGETOWN SANTA CLAUS 5K & KIDS RACES
The 25th annual Santa Claus 5K and kids races will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016.  The kids races will begin at 10:00am and the 5K run will start at 10:30am.  Age groups begin at 9 & under and continue to 80+. The race begins and ends in Veteran's Memorial Park and uses the mostly flat surrounding streets to complete the 3.1 mile course.  Pre-registration has now begun and the fee is $20.00. Pre-registation will be accepted until December 8th.   Race day registration is $25.00 and begins at 8:00am.  Each registrant will receive a winter wool hat when they arrive on race day.  An application can be found here


J.B. Clarke Railtrail 5 Fun Run
The 10th annual JBC 5 Mile Fun Run was held on Sunday, October 23, 2016.  Thank you to all the runners that participated in this year's event.  We hope to see you in 2017 in hope that the entire JBC Rail Trail is open and we can create a 10k event.  Look for more information in the Spring of 2017 as we get construction updates.

BLUE HILL GOLF COURSE NEWS
As of January 1, 2016, Applied Golf has been retained by the Town of Orangetown to manage the golf course operations at the Blue Hill Golf Course.  Applied Golf will also continue to manage the Broadacres Golf Course.  For information regarding greenfee & cart rental fees, permits and the seasonal time program please visit:          www.playgolforangetown.com


VETERAN'S AND INDEPENDENCE PARK LIGHTING
The athletic lighting at Veteran's Memorial Park and Independence Park have been turned off at this time.  Should the weather turn warmer this office will turn the lights back on for that time period.  Please check this site for updates.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Town of Orangetown Parks and Recreation Department is to deliver leisure time opportunities through safe, well-organized and affordable programs and a comprehensive network of parks, trails and open spaces to promote the mental, physical and social well-being of our residents.

 


Program Flyers

The Department mails flyers to its residents three times a year (early March, May and September), outlining the upcoming programs it will offer. Copies of the current flyer are available on this website, at the Office, local libraries or at Town Hall.

The office also has a resource display of brochures from areas of local interest.


Office Hours

The Parks and Recreation Office, located in a historic sandstone house in Veteran's Memorial Park, is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
